Location, location, location. Meeting among the NFL and the players have stirred to Minnesota this week, the same neighborhood as the federal district court of Judge Susan Nelson who is managing the antitrust case. The prospect of the discussion has led numerous to guess that a deal is close, closeness allowing for straight session with the court to acquire the resolution agreed. Now, PFT reads the tea leaves and sees the end of the impasse and the beginning of the 2011 period.
A big tell came yesterday, when Roger Goodell and DeMaurice Smith traveled together to the NFLPA rookie symposium. Was it just a show of good will? Maybe, but agreed the hostility between the two sides such a gesture would appear unlikely if a conformity were something but important.
